Taking the new ball(s) did Hustlers no favours as they sank to a second defeat at home, this time against Rowanfield.
The game started to slip with the very first hand of the night and, although Lewis held his man, the other two on first leg lost a a few pins to leave Hustlers with a deficit of 5.
Rowanfield kept up the pressure, scoring over 120 on both of the next two legs. One Hustler on each leg shipped 11 pins to his opponent and only Chatz and Steve managed to keep their opposite numbers in check. Fourteen pins were lost on second leg to leave a shortfall of 19 and this was compounded by third leg which shipped a further 15 pins.
So with 34 pins to make up, there was little for last leg to play for. However, Hustlers’ last leg was actually their best, with Ant the only Hustlers player to beat his man. Nevertheless another couple of pins were lost and the result was a 36 pin defeat for the Hustlers.
