In a not very close game, Hustlers beat Outcasts comprehensively with a surprisingly good performance at the London Inn.
The result was largely settled after an excellent first leg of 120 with both Pete and John achieving good scores in the 40s. With John beating his opponent by 16 pins, Hustlers left Outcasts sniffing their dust with a healthy lead of 22 pins.
Second leg built on this lead and at the end of the leg managed to increase the safety margin by a further 5 pins.
Third leg was led by Lewis who scored a fine 40 and pulled 10 pins on his opponent. Dave and Andy cancelled each other out and the 10 pins added to the lead enabled last leg to enjoy themselves with a commanding margin of 37 pins.
So up against Outcasts’ best leg (which included their only 40 of the night) Hustlers only had to hold onto their lead, which they almost did, and a small loss of 3 pins on the leg enabled Hustlers to win by an impressive 34 pins.
