In a rearranged game at the London Inn, Hustlers got the Cream by a comfortable 41 pins. This result leaves Hustlers comfortably in mid-table obscurity but unfortunately Cream are firmly anchored to the foot of Division 3.
First leg started well but soon descended into mediocrity, benefitting only by Cream’s equally inept bowling which enabled Hustlers to show a small profit of 4 at the end of the leg.
Second leg was if anything slightly worse but again a generous Cream opposition gifted them a further 5 pins and Hustlers went into third leg some 9 pins ahead.
Although Lewis was the star of third leg, scoring a 12 spare and ending with 44, Ant bowled very well for his 43 and in fact pulled 19 pins on his opponent, more than eliminating Dave’s deficit of 10 on his opposite number. The outcome was a further 12 pins added to the safety margin.
So with a comfortable cushion of 21 pins, last leg went to town with Gary on 41 pulling a further 18 pins from his opponent and Rob adding another 40 to the aggregate. Although their total fell short of third leg by one pin they beasted the opposition by another 20 pins, giving Hustlers a victory of 41.
