The second half of the season begins as the first, as Hustlers do the double over Superstars and draw others into the relegation battle.
First leg was an unusual experience as all three Hustlers, led by Clive with the only 40 of the night but aided by some wayward skittling by the opposition, beat their men and raced away with a lead of 24.
This proved to be the Lord Mayor’s Show, as second leg decided to make the game more competitive. Chatz in particular struggled after starting with an encouraging 8 but in fairness this was against Superstar’s highest leg which included a 47 and a spare.
Third leg struggled to hold on the the lead but all three Hustlers managed to stay close to their opponents; in the end they lost only 3 further pins and gave the last leg a slender lead of 5.
Fourth leg found it easier going with Gary just missing out on his 40 and, without really getting into top gear, last leg ran out a further 6 pin advantage and carved out a Hustlers win of 11 pins.
