HUSTLERS KRAFT A RECORD-BREAKING WIN AT FORTRESS SUFFOLK

It was a bad evening at the office for Kraftsmen who were slaughtered by 61 pins at the hands of the rampant Hustlers.

First leg was mediocre but propped up by a 43 from Rob, who made 13 pins on his opponent and enabled the Hustlers to finish the leg 8 pins ahead.

Hustlers’ second leg must surely be a record breaker for this alley.  Brian, who had evidently had Redex added to his beer, started with an 11 spare and never scored below 7 on his way to his highest ever score of 50.  He was more than ably supported by Lewis, whose own 13 spare was the major contribution to an excellent 46.  Brian more than doubled his opponent’s score, Lewis made 18 pins on his man and Clive provided good back-up, holding his opposite number with 40.  The second leg total of 136 enabled Hustlers to add a further 45 pins to their advantage.

Third leg clearly showed that the previous leg was the Lord Mayor’s Show.  Both Swayner and Rich dropped double figures to their opponents and only Andy, celebrating his promotion to third leg with a rare 40, managed to keep the deficit on the leg down to 15 pins.

Armed with a lead of 38, a confident last leg set about to pile further misery on the Kraftsmen.  Gary, Steve and (with a bit of help from a 10 spare) Neil all scored in the 40s which increased Hustlers’ lead by 23 pins and resulted in an impressive win by 61 pins.
