This was a night to forget as Hustlers collapsed at the Albion House Club against a strong Syndicate team, failing even to reach 400 pins.
At first there was little sign of what was to follow, with Rob on first leg top scoring with 41. The other two struggled however, losing 17 pins between them, with the result that Hustlers ended the leg some 16 pins in arrears.
Second leg offered some hope, albeit against Syndicate’s weakest leg. Although Clive was the lowest scoring of the three, he gained 5 pins on his opponent and only two more pins were lost on the leg.
The rout then started, with Syndicate’s last two legs both breaking 120 pins. Third leg alone saw Hustlers lose 30 pins to the opposition and resulted in a massive deficit of 48 pins for last leg to make up.
With only their averages to play for, fourth leg tried hard but they too were unable to make any mark on the game and, although this was the only leg to break 100 pins, Hustlers lost a further 24 pins to Syndicate who ran out (or did they stroll out?) the winners by a massive 72 pins.
