Another year ending in relegation beckons for Hustlers as, despite a battling finish, they lose narrowly to Kraftsmen at the Suffolk.First leg, as usual, started badly; despite a spirited 42 by Rob, Andy lost 10 pins to his man and second leg was faced with a 12 pin deficit. Second leg fared almost as badly with all three players losing to their opponents and increasing the shortfall to 23 pins.
Third leg was a complete contrast. Although Steve was unusually quiet, both Swayner and Gary (with a top scoring 46 pins) set to the opposition and clawed back 13 pins to leave the last leg with a manageable target to overhaul.
Sadly, although last leg performed well with a total of 125 and all three Hustlers scoring in the 40s, a massive 52 – with 2 spares – by Pete’s opponent proved the catalyst for a Kraftsmen victory by 7 pins.
